The Lancashire Buccaneers are Lancashire’s biggest American Football club offering American football for people from the age of 7.
We have 7 teams within the club playing both flag football which is the non contact version of the sport and then the full contact version of the sport too.
The Lancashire Bucs formed in 2025 following the merge of a the Chorley Buccaneers and the Lancashire Wolverines creating one brand and one family.
The Chorley Bucs were formed in 2001 and based in Chorley providing youth and junior football for all teams as well as Mixed Adult and Ladies only flag teams.
The Lancashire Wolverines were formed in 1988 as an adult contact team and then later had their U19s contact team the Colts from 1993 – 2018.
Now as the two clubs all play under one banner, we offer pathways for our players to be able to continue to play or be involved in as a coach, sideline staff, or a committee member.
What we offer.
Contact Football
We have three teams in this category, that play full contact football:
Youth Contact – Under 16s and play a 5v5 version of the sport.
Junior Contact – Under 19s and play a 9v9 version of the sport.
Adult Contact – Our adult contact team is open age from 18+ playing the full 11v11 version of the sport.
Flag Football
Flag football is a non-contact version of the sport and play 5v5.
We have four teams at the club that play flag football:
U11’s Flag – This is our co-ed team for males and females aged under 11
U14’s Flag – This is our co-ed team for males and females aged under 13
Ladies Flag – This is our female only team for any female aged 16+
Adult Flag – This is our co-ed team for males and females aged 17+
